Our take
I picked up this Traktor Kontrol X1 MK1 for my second deck, and it does the job. It's a single deck controller, so if you're mixing on two decks, you'll need two of these or another mixer. The build quality is decent – made in Japan, which feels a step above the Chinese models. But the single deck focus is limiting for most DJs. The loop/sampler section works well once mapped, but out of the box setup can be a hassle. At $102, it's not a bad deal if you already have a mixer and just need extra deck control, but it's a niche product.
